Official Trademark for Chute Fire Certification UK

By admin

When Avene Furness created Chute Fire Certification UK, she did so because she believed passionately in doing the right thing and offering a superior level of quality to managers of multi occupancy buildings. The value proposition that Avene and her team offer to their clients is a great customer experience and peace of mind – delivered through Certified Fire Technicians and Qualified Chute Engineers trained to the highest industry standards who continue their learning journeys with Continuous Professional Development. Chute Fire Certification UK has gone from strength to strength, launching innovative products and bespoke solutions for their clients’ individual requirements. This success hasn’t gone unnoticed by competitors, leading Avene to formally trademark Chute Fire Certification UK in order to protect the brand. This has been driven, in part, by some competitors setting up websites with very similar names. Chute Fire Certification UK’s new Registered Trademark status ensures that new and existing customers will instantly know that they are working with the company that they know and trust. “I am so proud of what we have achieved, and the high standard of training and qualifications achieved by every member of the team. Competency is critical, and we work incredibly hard at demonstrating this with every project that we undertake. The team and I go that extra mile to ensure that we make a difference, not only for our client’s requirements but within the Chute Service industry. We are setting industry standards and we are now protecting the great reputation that we have built” concludes Avene.

Innovative 2-in-1 Chute Safe Protection System attains 4-hour fire rating

By admin

Just six months after announcing its new hopper doors had passed a third party 2.5 hour fire test, Chute Fire Certification UK® has launched its new 2-in-1 Chute System – currently the only system in the UK that has a 4 hour certification by an independent UKAS accredited fire research facility. Managing Director Avene Furness-Monks is delighted with the results of the test and says “The unique benefit of this system is that it acts as a two in one system. The two elements work together to provide the ultimate combination in passive fire safety; the first is an automatic interlocking blade that will close when temperatures reach 72 degrees. The second element is a separate chute closure door which is fitted at head heights to ensure easy access by maintenance staff for safe change-over of bins and maintenance of the bin rooms.” The new system undertook its four-hour fire rating in accordance with BS476: Part 21: 1987 at Cambridge Fire Research, which also confirmed that the interlocking blade shut 46 seconds into the test. Chute Fire Certification UK® remains the only chute inspection and service provider to ensure that only certified technicians inspect refuse or laundry chutes.  As a UK manufacturer of chutes, the organisation can provide bespoke solutions, such as the twin-refuse system. Chute Fire Certification UK becomes a BESA member

By admin

Chute Fire Certification UK® has passed the audit to become a member of BESA – the Building Engineering Services Association.  BESA is the UK’s leading trade organisation for building engineering services contractors – representing the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings. BESA membership ensures high competence and health and safety standards – something Chute Fire Certification UK® Director Avene Furness-Monks is passionate about. Chute Fire Certification UK® is already member of the FPA, IFSM, CHAS, ConstructionLine, Acclaim and SSIP. Avene summarises why she feels this is so important. “When refurbishing and installing chutes, it is vital that a reputable company is used that adheres to all British Standards. Unfortunately, all too often when we go to inspect a chute, we are shocked by the substandard level of workmanship that has been signed off by other companies. This is potentially putting lives at risk. That is why we will only send Certified Fire Technicians to inspect and certify chutes.”

Avene gets tough for MACS charity

By admin

Inspecting and installing chutes can be a pretty dirty job but Managing Director of Chute Fire Certification UK®, Avene Furness-Monks is taking dirt to another level to compete in her 5th Tough Mudder event on 12th September 2019. Avene’s daughter was born with Trachea-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF), a rare congenital condition that affects one in every 3,500 babies and meant that she had a conjoined windpipe and oesophagus. Many children born with this condition also have other deformities, such as limbs and organs that are not fully formed, and her daughter also had a left Microphthalmia (micro eye) with no sight.  As soon as she was born, she was transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and within 24 hours had undergone major surgery. She spent four days in intensive care and was eventually allowed home after two weeks in the neonatal unit. Avene is pushing herself through 12 gruelling miles of mud and obstacles to raise money and awareness for the charity MACS (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support) the UK’s national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. If you want to show your support to provide confidence-building activities for these children and emotional support for their families, you can donate via Avene’s JustGiving page below.
